At Community Housing Solutions, we're committed to providing safe and supportive housing for vulnerable populations. Our eligibility requirements are designed to ensure the well-being of all residents and maintain a positive community environment. General eligibility requirements

These requirements apply to all of our housing programs to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Age & identification

  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Must have valid ID or be actively working toward getting one (DL, state ID, jail ID, or DOC paperwork is acceptable on intake).

Ability to pay or funding source

Self-pay, agency-funded, parole/probation, VA-funded, or nonprofit voucher.

Safe community living

  • Ability to follow house rules
  • No violence, weapons, or threats
  • Must maintain personal hygiene and room cleanliness
  • Must be physically able to live in a shared community home

Program-specific requirements

In addition to the general requirements, each of our housing programs has specific criteria to ensure the safety and success of our residents.

Sober living eligibility requirements

We provide safe, structured sober living with accountability so your clients don’t lose momentum after detox. These requirements ensure a safe, recovery-focused environment:

Substance Use Requirements

  • Must enter clean/sober or complete detox before arrival.
  • Must agree to random drug/alcohol testing.
  • Must sign a no drugs, no alcohol, no paraphernalia agreement.

Recovery Engagement

  • Attend AA/NA/SMART or counseling the required number of times per week.
  • Must agree to weekly house meetings.

Re-entry housing eligibility requirements

These requirements keep your program safe while still accessible:

Criminal Justice Requirements

  • Must be recently released from jail/prison OR on probation/parole.
  • Must provide:
    • Discharge papers
    • Parole/probation officer’s name & contact
    • Court order if applicable

Behavioral Requirements

  • Must agree to:
    • Curfew
    • Check-ins
    • Compliance with probation/parole conditions

Program Participation

  • Must engage in:
    • Job search
    • Case management
    • Life-skills programs
    • Sober living expectations (if combined home)

All members of the program:

Willing to engage in:

  • Case management
  • Mental health or substance use services if needed
